Yes, probably there is. But right now I have an awful lot of it leftover from the birthday shenanigans.
Generally, it’s probably rude to give a gym membership as a birthday gift. But I had actually asked for one, and my parents were kind & generous enough to deliver. I’ve discovered through many months of wasted membership dues at various gyms over the years that unless the gym is close to home, I won’t go. And as it turns out, there is a gigantic YMCA not just across the street from my apartment, but it is quite literally staring me in the face most of the time. I can’t think of better motivation – my mother’s powers of inducing guilt, plus the constant glare of the YMCA right across the street.
OK, so, enough of the healthy stuff. I’ll leave that to the real pros.
For my birthday dinner, I insisted that my two close friends, both Yankees, come to Southern Roots. This place is definitely now one of my top places to eat in the Triad (to say the least). Even waiting for our table was pleasant, as we waited outside under a heater.
I’ve already written about how wonderful Southern Roots is, so I’ll let the pictures tell the story of my very delicious birthday.
And now … time for more cake.
